Kovalam Blue flag beach ticket price - 2023
The entry ticket fee for Chennai's Kovalam blue flag beach is ₹10, regardless of age or other factors. Though there is no ticket fee for kids under the age of 3. The ticket is provided while walking towards the beach right before check-in. This ticket cannot be bought online.
Parking fees.
The beach premises has a large parking space dedicated to both four-wheelers and two-wheelers. See the pictures below.
The parking cost for four-wheeler vehicles such as cars is ₹50 and for motorbikes is ₹20. The parking area is maintained and organized by government officials under Tamil Nadu Tourism. The car parking area is so big to accommodate a lot of vehicles and has a ramp to make it easier for the vehicles to come out from the other end of the parking lot.
This ramp is also used to access the bike parking lot, which is again big enough to house a lot of bikes.
Restrooms and change rooms usage fees.
Well-maintained clean restrooms are provided at the beach premises. Changing rooms are also available with shower facilities for the convenience of the visitors. These rooms are separated for men and women. All these amenities are wheelchair accessible with ramps where necessary.
It costs ₹10 per person for the usage of restrooms, and ₹20 for using the changing rooms and shower. The fee is collected by a person sitting at the counter, near the facility.
Play area.
There is a play area with kids’ playing equipment like swings, slides, and see-saws. There is also a couple of adult play equipment for exercise. This play area is floored with sand for safety bordered and surrounded with concrete for walking.
The blue flag beach play area is completely free of cost and has no time limit as long as the beach is open.
Snack center.
There is a snack stall right before the play area with multiple stalls for different snacks such as tea/coffee, bread omelets, cotton candy, sandwich, popcorn, fresh juice, coconut water, ice cream, spring potatoes, cutlets, french fries, and more.
To buy these snacks, we have to first pay for the items at a common counter and get the bill. Then show the bill at the respective stalls to get those items.
